Save the Children International Nigeria has called on the federal government and other stakeholders to strengthen coordination across all sectors in order to improve the welfare of disadvantaged boys and girls.

Its Director of Advocacy and Campaigns, Amanuel Mamo made the call during the commemoration of the Universal Children’s Day in Abuja.

She also called on governments to step up effortstowards developing and implementing action plans that include full access to health and protection for girls.

Mamo said Save the Children appeals for an increased investment on improving the quality of, and access to primary and secondary education in particular.

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aisha Abubakar, represented by Mr Ali Andrew said children are the building blocks of any society and so their rights should be adequately promoted and protected.
