Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Architect Sonny Echono has said six additional technical education colleges would be established across the country this year.
Architect Echono who stated this in Abuja while receiving two reports on the Technical Teacher Training Advisory Committee and Inter-Ministerial Advisory Committee on the Establishment of Skills Training Centers said the move was to empower youths with the necessary skills to be self reliant and employers.
Mr Echono said the government would also establish more polytechnics, register Monotechnics, vocational and other innovation enterprise institutions as well as model skills training centers to provide skills to the youths.
The objective of both committees is to provide the necessary framework to empower youths through skills acquisition and capacity building for national economic development.
