The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Dsevelopment, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has said the federal government will support Kogi to develop cashew plantation on 500 hectares of land, spanning across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The minister said this in Lokoja during a stakeholders’ meeting on agriculture.

Audu, who was represented by Mrs Winifred Ochinyabo, his Special Adviser on Special and General Duties, said the government would also establish a cashew processing factory and a cashew juice plant in the state.

Ogbeh expressed optimism that Nigerians would soon have cause to look back and appreciate the effort of the present administration in revamping the economy through diversification to agriculture.

Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, in his remarks, reassured investors, local farmers and all other stakeholders that the government would encourage agricultural activities and also provide the necessary environment for effective operations.
