This means using public libraries to provide Nigerians reliable and affordable access to information and communication technologies in a public shared manner while bringing them into the global conversation.  
Minister of State and Supervising Minister of Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, who disclosed this in Abuja last week, also said FG would partner state governments in its turnaround programme for the public libraries.
Mr Wike stated this at the opening ceremony of the 1st Conference of Certified Librarians organized by Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), a statement by LRCN’s Ngozi Sams said.
The “Federal Government is planning many strategic interventions in the library and information science sector,” he said.
The Registrar/CEO of LRCN, Dr Victoria Okojie in her address at event said in an effort to fast track the transformation of public libraries into public access venues, LRCN surveyed all public libraries in Nigeria with a view to determining the state of the libraries.
