FG to establish e-government services coy in October

The Federal Government will in two months’ time establish an e-government services company to boost the current administration quest to engender Open Government Partnership in Nigeria (OGP).

The Minister of Communications, Dr. Adebayo Shittu disclosed this on Tuesday during a meeting of National Steering Committee on Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Nigeria, held in Abuja.

Shittu explained that the e-government services company will enable the Nigerian masses to access government information with ease as well as bring the government closer to the people.

“I am happy to inform you that in a month or two, the Ministry of Communications through Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) is going to establish a reliable e-government services company which will enable the ordinary masses of  Nigeria to reach the government and access all the government available information”, he said.

According to him, Ministry of Communication has initiated an e-government master plan as a policy which had been approved by the Federal Executive Council and the ministry would work hard to domesticate it and make it work for the betterment of Nigeria and her citizenry.
