FG to fight quackery in IT

Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu, has said that government will work with the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) to fight quackery in the Information Technology (IT) industry.

Adamu, represented by the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Emeka Nwajiuba, made the remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the 2019-2021 Council of Computer Professionals in Abuja.

“The council has the support of the ministry and government in its fight against quacks, imposters and all irregularities in the IT industry,” the minister said.

He said all individuals and corporate organisations that were into IT practice must register with the council just as he enjoined the council to come up with initiatives that would help government achieve its objectives.

In his address, President/Chairman-in-Council, Professor Charles Uwadia, said the highly dynamic nature of IT demands that both “the regulator and practitioners act smart to achieve our set of objectives.”
