The Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Chief Edem Duke disclosed this when the Mexican Ambassador to Nigeria Amb. Luis Alberto Barello Stahl paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja recently.

The Minister commended Mexico for using culture and hospitality industries in developing the country.

“The culture industry in Mexico is very big and they are very proud of their culture, a trip to the country will make you know their artefacts, artistic designs in the shops and other products that were properly carved by the rural communities in the country,” he said.

Duke assured that Nigeria will build a big Museum of national history in Abuja, which will help people to trace their origin and also attract tourists to the country.

In the areas of development and commercialization of cuisine, Edem Duke said that Mexican Cuisine has become an international product, which has been accepted in all countries and expressed optimism that the bond between the two countries will help in making Nigeria a top tourist destination in Africa.

Earlier, the Mexican Ambassador to Nigeria, Luis Alberto said that his country is ready to share experiences and bilateral relations with Nigeria.

“Nigeria has a lot of potentials; we need to explore different things in different sectors of this country so as to share our good experiences for the betterment of both countries,” he added.

Already efforts are in top gear to send three thousand Nigerian youths to Mexico to be trained in the cultural enterprise.
