The federal government will in February punish any staff of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) without the mandatory National Identification Number (NIN).
NIMC’s Director General, Engr Bisoye Coker-Odusote revealed this on Thursday in a circular issued to all staff of the commission.
In the circular signed by NIMC’s Deputy Director/Head, Human Capital Management Department, Mrs Rhoda Jackden, Coker-Odusote directed that any staff who does not have the NIN will not be considered for training, and could face disciplinary action.

The circular read in part: “It has come to the notice of management that some staff members are yet to be enrolled into the National Identity Database, and as such, do not have the unique National Identity Number (NIN)….
“In view of the above, any staff without the NIN should obtain one on or before, Wednesday, 31st January, 2024. Please be guided accordingly.”
