FG to strengthen tech, innovation ecosystem

Minister of Communications Adebayo Shittu has said the Federal Government has plans to strengthen the nation’s technology, ecosystem, and development of innovation hubs in partnership with the private sector.

He stated this while delivering a goodwill message at a conference on the theme ‘Africa-China Cooperation in Information Technology and Digital Economy: Prospects and Challenges’, in Abuja.

The minister reiterated that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is set to build a better future for Nigeria using innovations in science and technology roadmap.

Shittu explained that with the approvals of science and technology roadmap 2017 to 2030 and ICT Roadmap 2017-2020, the country now has a potent factor that would drive rapid scientific growth in the nation.

Dr. Adebayo posited that Nigeria has the human capital already, with its large population and productive youths, that only needed the requisite support system and enabling environment to transform the nation into an ICT resource country.
