The Federal Government will supervise two road projects sited in Cross River and Imo States with a sum of N213 million.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved the contracts today at its meeting chaired by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The supervisory Minister of Information, Nurudeen Mohammed, told State House correspondents after the meeting that the FEC awarded the supervision of the construction of Calabar-Oban-Nsan-Ajasor Road (section 1) in Cross River for N106.407 million.

The minister said the supervision would be done by Messrs. Siraj (Nig) Limited with a completion period of 24 months.

He said the council also awarded to Messrs Reset Consult, the supervision of the construction of the Mbaise Rind Road intersecting Owerri-Umahia Road in Imo State in the sum of N106.407 million with a completion period of two years.

Mohammed explained that the council approved the two contracts following the adoption of a memo presented by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Stephen Oru.

He said the projects, when completed, would enhance the spread of infrastructure development across the Niger Delta region.
