FG urged to doll out more empowerment programs to women

The founder and National Coordinator of Progressive Empowerment Project for Nigeria Women (PEP4NW) Mrs Ene Assumtermario Ogidi has called on the MDAs to empower more women in the country.

She noted that the progressive women played immensurable roles in electing the APC led administrations from local to federal level by mobilizing votes from the polling units to national level during the 2023 general elections, hence the need to compensate their efforts.

She made the appeal at the inauguration of national executives and 36 states and the FCT coordinators of PEP4NW yesterday in Abuja.

She however lamented that despite their hardwork towards electing APC political office holders at various levels, women were not duly compensated.

“So, after the election we decided to come together in one voice to key into women empowerment programs that’s going in the Renewed Hope administration.

“We’ve decided to go from ministry to ministry and agency to agency to seek the personalities that are buoyant enough who can empower the members of PEP1NW. Because these women have worked, we’re seeking for appointments and empowerment.

“They’re suffering. They invested their money during campaign period and they voted.
We need empowerments to go round the states. That’s all we’re asking for. In terms of appointments and empowerments.

“We know that no administration can appoint every person, it’s impossible but empowerments can go round because this administration has a lot of empowerment programs.

“If you look at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs we have a lot of empowerment coming from that ministry. So, we’re begging and urging that they open doors for us and empower our women. These are card carrying APC women. They’re intellectual women who sacrificed their everything during the election. We need empowerment from the local government to federal level,” she added.

Deputy National Women Leader of the party, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim and ten others were handed different awards for exemplary service and leadership to the party
