The federal government has been urged to replicate its school feeding programme in higher institutions of learning across the country.

The call was made by students of the University of Ilorin under the banner of Parrot Publicis Consultants during a media briefing at the University yesterday as part of activities kick-starting ‘My Indomie Story Campaign’ holding in the campus this month.

The Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Oladimeji Olushola, said the extension of the scheme would help to cushion the adverse effects of the lingering economic crisis on the student populace. 

The campaign is a practical segment of a course of the 300 Level Students of Mass Communication Department and Library and Information Sciences of the University of Ilorin, who specialize in Public Relations and Advertisement and was organized in conjunction with Dufil Prima Foods, producers of Indomie noodles.

As a respite for the unemployed, Olushola urged the government to establish an endowment fund to support fresh university graduates willing to set up their own businesses with seed funds.

Olushola added that the fund would discourage the quest for what he referred to as “elusive white collar jobs”.

In his remarks, the Area Marketing Manager of Indomie in Ilorin, Mr Abiola Adekunle Ahmed, said the company has been of immense assistance to Nigerians, who patronise its products.
