The federal government has been urged to support the expansion of modern workspaces in Abuja by creating an enabling environment for private investments in business infrastructure and innovation hubs.

Country Manager of Regus, Ayo Akinmade, made the call on Thursday in Abuja during the signing of a partnership agreement between Regus, a brand under the International Workplace Group (IWG), and Logitech Integrated Limited to establish new premium workspaces in Jabi.

He said the partnership is part of efforts to strengthen Regus’ presence in the capital city and promote access to flexible, serviced offices for startups, entrepreneurs, and corporate clients.

“Jabi is one of the locations on our growth plan where we wanted to have a building, and we are glad today that we are signing the partnership agreement that will deliver the Regus branch in this area,” he said.

He added that the new workspace, expected to open in the first quarter of 2026, will provide modern offices for businesses of all sizes.

Akinmade explained that Abuja’s economy—driven by government investment, construction, telecommunications, and real estate—offers opportunities for the private sector to expand facilities that align with the federal government’s economic diversification agenda.

Representing Logitech Integrated Limited, Sylvester Egweni said the partnership was informed by IWG-Regus’ global track record and reputation.

“We decided to partner with IWG based on recommendations from partners. They have a great track record and a global brand that is making a difference in the space,” he said.

Egweni added that the new Jabi branch, located near Jabi Lake and Jabi Lake Mall, will feature twin-duplex offices with rooftop views, private parking, and multiple workspace options.

He noted that the serene environment, supported by restaurants, entertainment facilities, and green spaces at Jabi Lake Park, will make the site ideal for productivity and collaboration.

Akinmade said IWG aims to have 70 fully functional workspace locations in Nigeria within five years, adding that its 23 existing centres show the goal is achievable.
