As implementation of 2019 procurement commences, the Federal Government has warned contractors against deviating from terms of agreement signed.

The permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr AbdulKadir Mua’zu, said this yesterday in Abuja at a one-day interactive meeting with successful contractors that bided in the ministry.

Mua’zu, in an interview with journalists, threatened erring contractors with heavy sanctions, adding that delivery of substandard projects would not be accepted.

“As you all know, no government has committed itself to the development of agriculture, using it to diversify the economy and lift our people out of poverty like the government of President Muhammadu Buhari. No government has committed as much resources in terms of funding and support to agriculture and rural development in this country,” he noted.

He urged contractors to work with the ministry and make sure they increase the quality of the work they do.
