Speaking at the Emir of Kano’s palace Sambo said, “We have to understand that this is something that goes beyond politics as I am aware that many people are saying that government is responsible for what is happening.  Government has no hand in these things. What the government is doing is to protect the lives and property of citizens and promote peaceful coexistence in the nation.” He then went on to list some officials of the Federal Government including the National Security Adviser, Defence Minister, Police Inspector General and himself and said they cannot be part of a plot to harm Northern Nigeria.
Oga Namadi, we hear that one. When you were assembling your over-embroidered and over-starched gowns to go to Kano, you did not think of what to say when you get there? You say you have no hand in Boko Haram. Of course we know you have no hand because when Boko Haram is overrunning territory left, right and centre we don’t see any hand of the Federal Government there trying to stop them.
And we know why because all of you are too busy doing other things that nobody asked you to go and do. Like the Inspector General that you even said was sitting near you; how can we see his hand in solving insecurity when he has carted off all his mobile policemen to the National Assembly to go and stop “one Aminu Waziri Tambuwal” from entering the place? If he had taken half of those Mopols to Kano, will Boko Haram have had an easy ride all the way to the mosque to explode bombs there?
It is not only insecurity. All other places we didn’t see your hand there. Did we see government’s hand in all the potholes that are on our express roads? All the hospitals that are standing there as mere consulting clinics, did we see your hand there? Now that the naira is in free fall against all other currencies, where is your hand there? Or are you waiting until the naira is dead and buried then you will come and tell us that the Federal Government did not have a hand in its fall?  

Eggon youths want more cops?

If not because serious matters of life and death are involved in this matter, I would have been amused by the call I read of Eggon youths in Nasarawa State saying more soldiers and policemen should be deployed to their area to protect them from attackers.
According to the story, leaders of Eggon Youth Movement [EYM] and Ame Wo Ba Eggon [AWBE] addressed a press conference in Lafia. They said they were not satisfied with the number of soldiers and policemen that have been sent to the crisis-hit area and that they want more cops to be sent there because “Eggon people remain vulnerable to the guerrilla tactics of invaders.”
Is it now that you know the importance of security agents? That time when they were sent to Alakyo to try to stop violence and Ombatse laid an ambush and killed nearly 100 of them, what did you do? Did you help to apprehend Baba Alakyo and hand him over to face murder charges? Now that you have started another fight somewhere, maybe because it is not going in your favour, you want security agents to come in. Which policemen will go to Alakyo again after all the ones that Ombatse killed? You even have the temerity to complain of others’ “guerrilla tactics.” Which guerrilla tactic is more than what Ombatse did when it ambushed and killed 100 policemen?
