‘FG won’t force IDPs out of FCT’

The Director General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Muhammad Sani Sidi alongside Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof Bem Angwe said that the Federal Government would not forcefully relocate Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) out of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking in Abuja when the commission made a public presentation of its report on IDPs to NEMA, Director General of the agency said the IDPs will be relocated to their various camps and communities voluntarily.
He said for any IDP who wants to relocate back to their camps or communities, the government will support them.
NHRC boss, Prof Angwe said the camps were presently in suitable conditions for habitation as the government had provided schools and medical facilities.
