FG, Yobe gov’t signs N2.5b contract for ‘Nasari’ grazing reserve

The Federal and Yobe State governments on Thursday jointly signed contract of N2.5 billon for the Nasari/Jakusko grazing reserve located in Jakusko Local government area of the state.
Yobe Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr Mairo Ahmad Amshi, who signed the contract on behalf of the state government, said the project was for Livestock Development Center aimed at boosting agriculture and curtailing farmer and herder clashes.
Dr Amshi said the project would be in three phases starting with the first grazing site in Yobe north, while the second and the third sites would be in Yobe East and Yobe South.
According to her the project has three months completion period.
