FG’s 76, 400 jobs: NDE trains 2, 800 Kano women on cosmetology

National Directorate of employment (NDE) Kano office has on Thursday disclosed that, under the Federal Government’s 76, 400 nationwide job creation programme, Kano state will train 4000 people on various skill acquisition that will possibly leads to self-reliance.

Speaking to participant at the opening ceremony held at the NDE state secretariat, NDE state coordinator Malam Ilyasu Ahmed stated that, 2, 800 which makes 70% out of the 4000 allocated to the state are women.

According to him, this is due to the fact that women play a vital role in societal development and as such need to be given more priority. He added that, the women will be trained and empowered as well as the 1, 200 males that makes the 4000 beneficiaries.

“70% of the total numbers allocated to Kano state are women, and these women are going to be trained and empowered on cosmetology. However, the remaining part of the beneficiaries which are male will be trained in other disciplines,” said the coordinator.

Addressing the beneficiaries Director General NDE Dr. Nasir Ladan represented by Mr. Charles Ayiye urged the beneficiaries to effectively use the skills acquired during the ten-day training and also make good use of the empowerment package that will be given to them at the end of the training to become self-reliant and reduce the mass unemployment menace in the society.
