The Federal Government has been berated for adopting `no work no pay` policy to deter workers from exercising the right to strike for better welfare.

This was contained in a statement by Comrade Nuhu Ogirima, national president of Colleges of Education Academic staff Union).

He said instead of “government owning up to her failure to deliver good governance, it is adopting insensitive and irresponsible laws detrimental to the labour force of the country.”

He said: “As we conclude the first phase of the national strike, we urge you all not to be distracted by the intimidation and threat of ‘no work no pay.’ The threat should rather strengthen our resolve that enough is enough of exploitative work. It’s no pay no work!”
