The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Renewed Hope Housing estate in Sobawa, Rigachikun, Kaduna, Kaduna state.

The ceremony which marked the commencement of the President Bola Ahmed’s charged Renewed Hope Housing across in the state was performed by Governor Uba Sani.

As the crowd settled, the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the FHA, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, stepped forward, his face lit with pride and gratitude.

He spoke of the journey that had brought them to this moment—a journey that began on March 28th, 2024, when Governor Uba Sani graciously allocated prime land to the Authority and pledged Kaduna State’s support toward the dream of accessible housing.

“We are happy to be back in Kaduna,” Hon. Ojo said with heartfelt sincerity. “This state has become a home to us in the Federal Housing Authority.”

He recalled how generously the governor had received them and reaffirmed the FHA’s purpose.

They were not merely building another estate—they were igniting the fulfillment of President Tinubu’s promise: to provide livable and affordable homes for Nigerians.

He spoke passionately about the deeper essence of the project. Adequate housing, he said, is the foundation of a productive and dignified life. “An adequately housed man has all the potentials of maximum productivity and good life,” he declared, drawing nods of agreement from the audience.

But Hon. Ojo had even more to reveal. The estate in Kaduna, he assured, would be more than blocks and cement.

“We are going to create a livable environment,” he said, “a place Nigerians would be proud to call home.” It was a promise that resonated deeply with the hopeful families in attendance.

He also highlighted that the Renewed Hope Housing initiative was already taking root across the nation.

On November 6th, 2025, the FHA had commenced a similar project in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Other states—Abia, Niger, Ogun, Kebbi, Ekiti, and Kogi—were already in line, backed by strong partnerships and completed procurement processes.

And, perhaps most reassuring to the crowd, he pledged speedy completion, emphasizing that the estate would be fully funded by the FHA’s internally generated revenue. He proudly noted that under President Tinubu’s directive, the FHA had been completing the projects it inherited—“the days of abandoned projects are over.”

Before stepping back, Hon. Ojo thanked Governor Uba Sani once more, acknowledging how the governor had managed to attend despite a tight schedule that included presenting his state budget and hosting nineteen northern governors. His presence, Hon. Ojo said, was a testament to his devotion to the welfare of his people.

When Governor Uba Sani took the podium, his message was clear and reassuring. The Renewed Hope Housing initiative, he said, was a shining example of President Tinubu’s commitment to reducing Nigeria’s housing deficit, especially for the poor, vulnerable, and underserved. He spoke of key programs such as the New Hope Cities and the National Social Housing Fund, initiatives designed to transform the nation’s housing landscape.
