The International Federation of Women Lawyers in Nigeria, Osun State branch has called for adoption and implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 in Osun State so as to aid speedy dispensation of justice.

The Chairperson of Osun State chapter of FIDA Nigeria, Mrs Olusola Fasugba Odutayo said if the ACJA is adopted and implemented in Osun, it would reduce the usual unwarranted delay in the dispensation of justice and address the challenge of needless prison congestion.

She said this in a chat with Daily Trust in Osogbo, Osun state on the sideline of a continuing legal education workshop on enabling capacity on the adoption and implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.

According to the Osun FIDA chairperson, "We want to ensure that ACJA is adopted and implemented in Osun so as to expedite administration of criminal justice in this state and prevent people from spending years in prison as awaiting trial"

The Osun State Head of Service, Dr Olowogboyega Oyebade in his presentation at the workshop spoke on the challenges of the adoption and implementation of ACJA and assured that Osun State Government was willing to do anything thing that will promote smooth dispensation of justice in the state.

Also Justice Jide Falola of the Osun State High Court, Ikirun spoke on the benefits and technique in the ACJA as it affects the treatment of women and children in Osun State.
