Fight against crime must be won at all cost – IGP

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has reiterated that the fight against crime in the country must be won at all costs.

This is as he disclosed that the police was mapping out an effective strategy to defeat banditry, kidnapping, cattle rustling and all forms of criminality in Nigeria.

He spoke during a visit to the Joint Task Force of Police and members of Special Constabulary Vigilante at Gidan Kasanga in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger state.

The police boss, who was represented by Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, stressed the need for members of the public to supply them with useful information that would assist his men to carry out their mandate.

Niger State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji, assured the police of the state support.

He said the task force had cleared bandits’ hideout in Kontagora, Rijau and Mariga local government areas and were now in Mashegu for a final push to root out bandits out of the state.
