The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State, Hon. Muhammad Gadaka, has said that finding a successor like Governor Mai Mala Buni will be challenging.

He, however, expressed confidence that through prayers and the governor’s leadership, a capable successor would emerge ahead of the 2027 elections.

Gadaka made this known while addressing party leaders at the APC Secretariat in Damaturu during the distribution of N100,000 as financial support to ward, local government, and state party leaders.

He stated that leadership ultimately comes from God and urged aspirants to remain prayerful and committed to the common good.

The chairman recalled that similar prayers during the tenure of former Governor Ibrahim Gaidam contributed to the emergence of Governor Buni.

Gadaka also disclosed that Governor Buni had approved financial support for APC leaders across the 17 local government areas of the state. He explained that the gesture, part of the governor’s Sallah package, provides N100,000 to each party leader at the ward, local government, and state levels.

According to him, the support is aimed at easing the financial burden associated with personal responsibilities and party activities during the festive period.

He noted that Governor Buni has consistently prioritized the strengthening of wards, recognizing them as key pillars of the party due to their political relevance.

Gadaka emphasized that the governor does not interfere in the selection of party or government officials but allows communities, through their stakeholders, to freely choose their representatives, reflecting his respect for democratic principles.

He added that the governor also grants full autonomy to local government areas to manage their political processes.

The chairman urged party leaders to justify the confidence reposed in them by carrying out their responsibilities diligently to ensure collective political success.

In their response, APC leaders commended the governor for the gesture, describing it as timely and a clear demonstration of his commitment to grassroots leadership.
