Finnish envoy endorses peace dialogue

She said Nigeria as a regional power can support the IDPS to ensure peace across West Africa and the rest of Africa.
The envoy made the remarks in Abuja at a roundtable for Nigeria Civil Society Roundtable on the IDPS.
She stated that Nigeria’s role in supporting a goal on peaceful and inclusive societies in the post-2015 global development agenda is key for transition from violence to peace in conflict affected States worldwide.
Team Leader for UK’s Department for International Development, (DFID) Oliver Blake stated that his country will support Nigeria’s effort to endorse the IDPS and implement the new deal.
 He made reference to Timor Leste, DRC Congo and several other members of the IDPS who are making progress towards peaceful societies.
Executive Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development and Education in Africa (CSDEA) Theophilus Ekpon called on President Goodluck Jonathan to endorse the IDPS and its new deal for engagement in conflict affected states in the face of the current security challenges.
He applauded the enormous efforts of the President in handling the security and development problems faced in Nigeria and that the IDPS represents a multilateral and holistic approach to consolidate the gains of peace building in Nigeria.
