Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has congratulated Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, on his retention as the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Governor Fintiri described the APC’s decision to retain the Tinubu-Shettima ticket as a clear demonstration of the party’s confidence in the leadership, experience, and commitment of the duo, who led the party to victory in the 2023 presidential election.
According to the governor, the decision underscores the trust and confidence President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the APC have in the Vice President.
“The retention of Vice President Kashim Shettima reflects the trust and confidence reposed in him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress. It is also a recognition of his loyalty, competence, and unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration,” Fintiri said.

The governor noted that since assuming office, Shettima has distinguished himself as a statesman, bridge-builder, and committed public servant, whose contributions to governance, national cohesion, and policy implementation have earned widespread recognition.
He added that the Vice President’s wealth of experience as a former two-term Governor of Borno State and Nigeria’s Vice President would continue to be invaluable in advancing the country’s development and strengthening democratic governance.
“I have no doubt that His Excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima, will continue to serve our country with integrity, dedication, and distinction in the years ahead,” the governor stated.
Governor Fintiri also prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, good health, and strength for the Vice President as he continues to discharge the responsibilities of his office in service to Nigeria.
