Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has sworn in eight Development Area Administrators following their confirmation by the State House of Assembly after their nomination by the governor.

The swearing-in ceremony was performed on his behalf by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, who charged the new administrators to ensure that the policies of the present administration are effectively extended to rural communities across the state.

She urged them to be inclusive in their leadership approach, stressing that governance must be people-oriented.

“You must carry people along in whatever you are doing, because Adamawa is one big family,” she said.

She further announced that the appointees will be placed on evaluation, adding that their performance would be reviewed after 90 days.

“From today, you are on evaluation and after 90 days, assessment would be conducted on you,” she stated.

The deputy governor also advised them to promote reconciliation and unity within their respective areas to ensure inclusiveness in governance under what she described as the “fresh air government.”

She cautioned the new administrators against seeing themselves as local government chairmen, emphasizing that their roles are distinct and administrative in nature.

“You are not chairmen of your respective LGAs,” she warned.

The newly sworn-in administrators include Idris Usman (Mayo Ine), Gumniba Billaba (Guyuk West), Prince Ginka Pondiwe (Guyuk South), Christopher Maxwell (Guyuk Central), Desmond Minakaro (Gyawana), Mohammed Musa Gengle (Gengle), and Gambo Sarki (Yola Central), among others.

Their confirmation followed consideration of a letter dated 4th May 2026, sent to the State House of Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, requesting legislative approval for their appointment.
