Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has cautioned political appointees and government officials against anti-party activities, disloyalty, and political betrayal as his administration enters its final year in office.
The Governor issued the warning on Thursday while receiving members of the State Executive Council, Permanent Secretaries, and other top government officials who paid him a Sallah homage at the Government House in Yola.
Governor Fintiri stressed that loyalty, unity, and dedication remain fundamental pillars for effective governance, warning that any form of internal sabotage or political distraction could undermine the achievements recorded by the administration.
He reminded appointees that public office is a sacred trust, noting that individuals who betray confidence today may find it difficult to earn credibility and respect in future political engagements.
According to him, the focus of government must remain on service delivery rather than personal political ambitions.
The Governor further emphasized that although the administration has entered its final year, governance would not slow down. He added that greater commitment and dedication are expected from all officials to ensure the government fulfills its promises to the people.
He explained that the remaining period of his tenure would be devoted to the completion of ongoing projects across the state, as well as consolidating reforms aimed at strengthening institutions and improving service delivery in critical sectors such as education, infrastructure, and healthcare.
Governor Fintiri also assured residents that his administration remains committed to ensuring a smooth, peaceful, and orderly transition of power at the end of its tenure, in line with democratic principles.
He expressed confidence that the people of Adamawa State would continue to protect and sustain the developmental gains recorded under his leadership, describing the state as a collective project that must be nurtured beyond any single administration.
Earlier, the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, who led the delegation, described Governor Fintiri as a visionary and courageous leader who has successfully steered the affairs of the state despite political and economic challenges.
