Goods worth millions of naira were on Saturday night destroyed when fire razed a section of the Ikpoba Hill Market in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

It was gathered that the fire which started at about 9.pm on Saturday razed over 15 shops, mainly caravans and make-shift shops.

A witness identified as Mr Peter, said, “At about 9.pm we saw smoke billow from one of the shops and before we knew what was happening, the whole place was engulfed by fire. Firefighters came after the fire had razed the shops.

One of the shop owners, who was around when our reporter visited the scene, said it was pointless talking about the incident because they would not get help from the government or any individual, adding that, “Are you going to help me if I talk to you? Just leave me alone.”
