Fire has reportedly razed down the house of a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Yakubu Audu Peti, in Chukuku community, Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
A resident of the area who is a neighbour to the victim, Ishaku Danjuma, said the incident happened on Saturday, around 11:23 am.
He said a fire outbreak followed the restoration of electricity supply in the area.
“Actually, it was the man’s wife that was at home when the electricity was restored, because I spoke with before he home to attend a wedding in Kuje, until some moment later when the wife ran to me and raised an alarm that their house has been gutted by fire,”he said.
He said though no life was lost, property and valuables were destroyed.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Kwali Area council, Hon Danladi Chiya, has sympathised with the APC chieftain over the fire incident.
Chiya, who visited the place late Saturday evening, encouraged the victim to remain steadfast in faith and to continue appreciating God for everything.
