Our source said the cause of the fire was unknown and that the police are still investigating the remote and immediate cause of the fire. “The cause of the fire could not be attributed to politics now, until the police have concluded their investigation,” said Mr. Yinka Odumakin, spokesperson to the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

Odumakin said the entire house was burnt while vital documents were destroyed. When contacted, Bakare, founder and Senior Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, based in Lagos, declined commenting on the issue, saying he was too busy putting things in place.

Bakare was the Vice Presidential candidate of the CPC in the just-concluded presidential election in which he and Buhari lost to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Goodluck Jonathan.
