A morning fire razed five offices at Freedom Radio in Kaduna State in the wee hours of Sunday.
The fire was said to have emanated from the inverter room that houses the station’s electrical equipment.
Daily Trust gathered that the offices affected were inverter room or engineering room, Head of Marketing office , conference hall, security office and drivers room.
It was further gathered that the private station went off air temporarily before it resumed transmission around 10:45 am Sunday.
The Station Head of Operations Abubakar Jiddah Usman who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust said the fire started around 2:30 am from the inverter room which houses so many equipment while the power supply passes through the inverter to the station’s transmitter.
” I think it could be heat or some kind of electric fault which caused the fire and consumed about five offices. We went off air but resumed around 10:45 am and God willing we will continue with out transmission,” he said.
Our reporter observed that the properties and equipment destroyed ran into millions.
