Armed bandits on Sunday kidnapped 12 firewood traders at Dagafada village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred around 7am ‎at the village located along Kaduna-Niger State border‎.

They were said to have gone there to cut wood which had been their source of livelihood in the area.

A resident of Birnin Gwari who is also a member of the Civilian JTF in the town told our reporter that majority of the victims were residents of Birnin Gwari tow‎n.

‎He said their abductors were yet to contact their families.

Spokesman of the police in the state, Yakubu Sabo, did neither picked any of several calls nor called back.
