Anavex Life Sciences Corporation, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, has appointed Dr. Emmanuel Fadiran, as its senior vice president, regulatory affairs. According to a statement by the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Christopher U. Missling, the new vice president had an accomplished track record of working within the FDA. Fadiran, according to the statement, has 24 years of regulatory experience within the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), having held leadership positions at the FDA’s Centre for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER).
“His depth of experience makes him an excellent choice to manage the considerable number of regulatory filings that Anavex has planned,” the statement said. Prior to joining Anavex, Fadiran had served as a clinical pharmacology team leader at the FDA’s CDER. Fadiran holds a Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) and Master of Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom.
