Alaro City, in partnership with Universal Homes, has completed the handover of an additional 48 apartments at Universal One, bringing the total number of homes delivered within a year to 200.

The third key handover ceremony took place on August 30, 2025, at the residential community within the Lekki Free Zone.

The event was attended by senior Lagos State officials, including the Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, represented by Mrs. Adejoke Ojo; and the Commissioner for Commerce,Trade and Industry, Mrs. Kaosarat Folasade Ambrose-Medebem, represented by Mrs Gbemisola Osi-Efa Atitebi. The Managing Director of Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited (LWIL), Mr. Niyi Akinlusi, was also present.

Akinderu-Fatai commended Alaro City for its contribution to addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit.

He described the Universal One project as “a practical, sustainable solution and part of the largest residential development in the Lekki Free Zone.”

Akinlusi highlighted Alaro City’s role in driving urban development, stating that the project provides “world-class homes and a communal lifestyle that matches the best anywhere in the world.”

The Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry also praised the synergy between residential and industrial development in Alaro City, noting its potential to attract global investment and boost economic growth.

Yomi Ademola, Managing Director of Alaro City and Chairman, West Africa for Rendeavour, said the completion of 200 homes within a year reflects both the demand for quality housing and confidence in the city’s integrated development vision.

Earlier this month, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed M. Dangiwa, commended Alaro City for its commitment to sustainable housing and alignment with the government’s Public-Private Partnership approach to closing Nigeria’s shelter gap.

Alaro City also announced the launch of Phase Two of its Universal One Apartments, following the sell-out of the first phase. The new phase will feature upgraded designs and facilities aimed at improving residents’ living experience.

Residents currently enjoy 24-hour power supply, modern infrastructure, and access to recreational facilities including a paddle court, football pitch, and basketball court. Additional amenities such as a supermarket, gym, children’s play area, and swimming pool are under development.

The community is also set to welcome Wellington College International Lagos, a British co-educational school scheduled to open in September 2027, with promises of world-class academics and facilities.
