Nigeria’s healthcare regulators will partner with OneBarrow International Limited to host the 2025 Health Equity Conference, a high-level dialogue on bridging gaps in access to quality care.

The OneBarrow international communication officer,Maryam Aminu announced this in a statement sent to journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to her, the event, scheduled for next month, October 16 2025, is expected to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and development partners to tackle persistent inequalities in Nigeria’s health system.

According to her , the conference will focus on strategies to expand healthcare access, improve funding mechanisms, and strengthen accountability in both public and private sectors.

“Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, is billed to deliver a keynote address, alongside other senior officials and international experts.

“Dr Iziaq Salako, Minister of State for Health, will also feature at the forum, which is designed to foster collaboration across government, private institutions, and civil society.”

Aminu described the initiative as “a platform for practical solutions”, stressing the need for inclusive policies that prioritise vulnerable communities.

Stakeholders are expected to debate reforms around universal health coverage, health financing, and the use of digital technology in service delivery.

She said the 2025 conference aims not just to highlight challenges but to develop a shared roadmap for reducing Nigeria’s stark healthcare disparities.

“The meeting will also serve as a knowledge exchange hub, with participants drawn from across Africa and beyond.

“By uniting regulators and private actors, the forum seeks to reframe Nigeria’s health sector as a driver of social equity and sustainable development.”
