Remote WorkHER, a women-led platform committed to equipping women in Nigeria and Africa at large for remote career success, is set to equip 100 women with the practical tools needed to land remote and digital roles with confidence.

The outlet will hold a free job application training session virtually on Friday, April 4, following a recent online backlash surrounding a tweet about hiring frustrations and salary structure.

Remote WorkHER had received feedback from job seekers and online users questioning both its tone and compensation practices.

A statement on Thursday said the brand, known for its free resources, job access, and women-focused programmes, took the moment to reflect on the feedback and act accordingly.

“The feedback was valid. And as a company that exists to help women, we had to pause, listen, and lead with better solutions,” founder of Remote WorkHER, Adeife Adeoye, said.

“This training is part of our commitment to help women not only gain access to jobs—but actually feel ready and equipped to get them,” he added.

While the backlash began as a critique of the company’s application process and salaries, it uncovered a deeper issue: many job seekers are still struggling with the basics of applying, positioning themselves, and getting noticed.

“That is where Remote WorkHER is stepping in—again. The training session will cover how to apply effectively, tailoring CVs, decoding job descriptions, and avoiding common mistakes; how to build a strong portfolio (even with no experience); how to write a solid application email, among others.

“The training will be led by HR professional and recruitment expert, Felix Bissong, who will share insights on crafting compelling job applications and securing remote roles. The session will feature real-world examples and interactive learning to ensure every participant walks away with tangible, job-ready skills,

“Our why has always been simple: to equip women with the resources, knowledge, and community to thrive in remote work. This is us doubling down on that mission,” the statement said.

It added that the brand is reviewing its internal compensation structure and hiring processes, with plans to roll out clearer job descriptions, better-aligned salaries, and new benefits such as HMO, flexible hybrid work, performance bonuses, and professional development support.
