All necessary arrangements are said to have been concluded in the organization of the first Hausa TV reality show tagged ‘Kannywood Next Movie Star’, said to be initiated basically to empower youths who are interested in the movie industry as actors and actresses.
This was disclosed by the project manager of the reality show, Mr. Babs Oyeniyi, during a press conference held in Kano. He said there is no doubt that the development and growth of the film industry is hinged on the quality of talents produced or attracted from time to time. He added that the need for strong private investor involvement in the sector has made the Bidbit Multimedia Limited to wade in and come up with the new innovation that will enhance the emergence of new and well-trained artists who will give the industry the most modern outlook in the global entertainment sector.
“We can’t continue to berate the industry of low quality and sub-standard output when the raw materials, the skilled talent are few. We have asked ourselves this question: ‘How many stars have the industry produced in the last two years?’ However, most of these stars are self-made, products of personal training and discipline without formal training. The date of commencement and venue of the audition will be announced soon,” said Oyeniyi.
While shedding more light on the reality show, the initiator of the show, Mr. Oladimeji Victor, stated that the show will run for 30 days with 30 contestants that will be selected during the audition that will be conducted in established zones across the 19 northern states. He added that 20 contestants will be evicted within the 30 days and male or female winners would emerge within the final 10  contestants. According to him the final 10 contestants will have their first feature film location contract immediately after the end of the show. Also, the two winners that will emerge at the end of the show will be given a branded car with a one year Artistic management contract
