Fifty school girls and young women have been imparted with basic business and marketing skills on how to produce and sell reusable sanitary pads especially as the price of disposable sanitary pads continues to rise.

The beneficiaries who were students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Babban Saura in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna were taken through a 3-day skills acquisition training on making reusable sanitary pads, basic business training and menstrual hygiene sensitization.

The programme which was organized by the Even Development Project in collaboration with R & U Learning Solutions and Kayana by Aisha is aimed at impacting business and menstrual hygiene skills on the beneficiaries for sustained livelihoods.

The Executive Director, Even Development Project, Hussaina Bashir said the pilot project is targeting 50 beneficiaries each in Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara states.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. Alheri Andrew thanked the organisation for coming to the aid of the girl-child and said the skills they have been impacted with will go a long way in helping the girls achieve their full potential.
