The Nigerian Agricultural Mechanisation and Equipment Leasing Company (NAMEL) in partnership with Mantrac Nigeria Ltd has launched an Integrated Nationwide Agricultural Land Development Scheme (INALDS).

The scheme is designed to open up 500,000 of  unused arable land using heavy agricultural land technology supplied by Mantrac, a major supplier of bulldozers, caterpillars and other heavy-duty equipment in Nigeria.

While signing the Memorandum of Understanding in Abuja, the Chief Executive of NAMEL, Dr Ahmed Adekunle, said INALDS’s specific target was to develop at least 13,000 hectares of land in each state in collaboration with federal, state and local governments as well as investors.

He said the payment system was structured on a flexible deferred system over a period of 1-3 years.
