At least 10,000 nurses and midwives across Southwest Nigeria are set to benefit from an empowerment initiative spearheaded by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady.
The initiative, under her pet project, Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), will provide professional kits to frontline health workers.
This was disclosed by Seun Osamaye, Special Adviser to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on Women and Mobilisation, during a press briefing ahead of the first lady’s official visit to the state.
According to Osamaye, Senator Tinubu will be in Ondo State from April 17 to 18, 2025, to officially flag off the distribution of the professional kits.

She said the initiative was designed to strengthen healthcare delivery and support the essential roles played by nurses and midwives.
“This intervention highlights the first lady’s commitment to improving the well-being of frontline workers and contributing to the development of the healthcare sector,” Osamaye said.
In addition to the healthcare initiative, over 200 women involved in textile production-drawn from 18 local government areas in Ondo State-will receive financial assistance to expand their businesses.
Osamaye noted that beneficiaries do not need any political affiliation to access the support.
“Whether indigent or a resident, everyone qualifies. This is an inclusive government, and we’ve made sure the process is transparent and stress-free,” she added.
She said the first lady’s other intervention programmes include educational scholarships, youth empowerment and women’s support across various sectors.
