First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s “Every Home a Garden” project is achieving significant success in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), according to the FCT Coordinator, Dr. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi.

Benjamins-Laniyi, who also serves as the Mandate Secretary for the FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, made this statement at the close-out of the 2024 cohort of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Every Home a Garden competition in Abuja.

She noted that the event also served to celebrate FCT women for their enthusiastic participation in the competition, which was initiated by the First Lady and has been a “huge success.” (NAN)

She added that the project, part of the RHI Agricultural Support Programme, continues to positively impact the lives of rural women throughout the FCT.

According to Benjamins-Laniyi, the project promotes self-reliance, improves nutrition, and fosters economic empowerment through backyard gardens.

She explained that the competition, launched in July 2023, aims to encourage women in all 36 states of the federation and the FCT to practice home gardening. (NAN)
