The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu-Bamalli, has turbaned Mallam Bashir Ibrahim-Dabo as the first ‘Maga Isan Zazzau’.

The ceremony, which was held at the Emir’s Palace in Zaria was graced by top government functionaries at both the state and federal levels.

Dabo is a royal prince from the Bare Bari ruling clan in the Fulani dynasty of the Zazzau Emirate.

He is currently the Head of Central Results Delivery and Coordination under the office of Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination.

The new Maga Isa is an alumnus of the ABU Zaria, Harvard Kennedy School, London Business School and Aga Khan University, Nairobi.

He had also served as a Special Assistant to the former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Speaking shortly after the turbaning, the Emir of Zazzau said the turbaning was based on selfless commitment and service to the community exhibited by the new Maga Isan Zazzau.

Bamalli urged the royal prince to continue to be a good ambassador of the emirate while demonstrating a high sense of integrity, honesty and truthworthiness.

The Emir, while congratulating him for being the first to be turbaned with the traditional title, implored him to commit his vast experience and influence to promote the cultural and traditional heritage of the people of the emirate.
