When I went to have a look at the new Coscharis show room in Central Area, Abuja, I spotted the new 5 series parked behind the 7 series and I really have to say by far, it is the most beautiful executive car in its category- you might not want to agree. The 5 series is a premium standard executive sport saloon that crosses between sporting features like the sloping windscreen at the front and the aggressive head lamps and wide grills on a conservative style body. Basically merging two designs in one unlike the Jaguar XF which looks very much like a coupe or the Mercedes E-class which is loyal to its old tradition of the three box shape.

But here is one of the most lovable cars in the world that ran on our discussion board for weeks till we could no long feature it because it was generating long debates which we didn’t have space for. From the interior, BMW is loyal to its sporting culture by having a three spoke steering wheel that will certainly add to the nimbleness of the car despite it size.  Most especially, sitting inside the 5 series is like wearing a well fitted sports jacket- moreover you are enveloped with an ambience of sophistication. It has five cameras that aid in parking and the “soft lock” which simply shut the door when your have not. It reminds you why you paid for the car in the first place. In fact, I wanted to play with the doors again. Then the best part of the interior is the heavy insulation that shut outside noise to make long travel confortable.

As for the driving experience ,until we are given our own test drive then we will talk but lets hold on to what Vicki Butler-Henderson of Fifth Gear says- it’s great.

The 535i on display is a 3liter twin turbo engine. Even though the normal aspirated engines are great, the turbo charge engines should make it more aggressive, economical and better.  The advantage of having a twin charger, is to able to open wide on full throttle for a quick sprint despite its weight for, quick over taking potential something that is very difficult to achieve in split seconds.
