‘Feast of words’ a literary festival targeted at the youths, reading public and poetry enthusiast  is expected to hold this December at the university of Ibadan.

Aside from the red carpets, spoken words poetry, drama, music and other side attractions two books are to be unveiled at the event slated for the 12th of the month. The first is the ‘WRR-Caprecon Green Author Prize’ for young, unpublished Nigerian poets.

The founder of Words Rhyme and Rhythm, Samson Kukogho said the prize was initiated in recognition of the need to give upcoming writers a chance to get heard. “The prohibitive cost of publishing has silenced young writers without the required funds, limiting most to their Facebook walls and the occasional blog entries. Therefore, in each edition of the annual ‘Green author prize, four young poets will be jointly published as co-authors at no cost to them.”

The authors were selected from four zones: North, South, East, and West of Nigeria by a team of young and established Nigerian writers.

He said the second book titled, “Wind of Change” would be distributed free saying, “I turned to Brigitte Poirson who has for years been a financial and moral backbone. We created the Brigitte Poirson Poetry Contest and, with a monthly cash award, it stirred up a poetic storm that has culminated into this anthology.”
