Cristiano Ronaldo starred as Al Nassr won the Saudi Pro League title on Thursday, and the 41-year-old football great led from the front with 28 goals in a historic campaign.
The Portugese legend also scored against every opponent, and netted a brace to ensure Al Nassr retained a two-point lead to clinch the title.
But before Ronaldo’s contribution brought the 10th title and ended a seven-year wait, Nigeria legend, Ahmed Musa, had starred and led Al Nassr the last time Al Nassr won the title in 2019.
The Kano Pillars player and General Manager was a key contributor as the Riyadh-based club won the title in his first season after joining for a then-league record €16.5 million from Leicester City. It took Ronaldo three seasons to achieve same feat.

The winger who had a stellar 2018 World Cup with the Super Eagles, and became the first Nigerian player to score in two World Cups, transferred the form to Al Nassr where he netted seven times and provided seven assists in 24 league appearances to end a four-year title drought.
Musa’s pace and team-centred playing style opened up spaces that were helped Morocco striker Abderrazak Hamdallah score 34 goals to finish the league’s top scorer.
It took just three matches into his Al Nassr career for Musa to show his importance to the team with a hattrick in the club’s 3-0 win at Al-Qadsiah FC. The number 7 continued to put in commanding performances and as rivals Al Hilal stayed on their chase in the title race, the then, the 26-year-old wing wizard ensured the club stayed at the top with three goal contributions- two goals, one assist- in a crucial and dominant 5–0 thrashing of Al-Fateh.
“The Governor” was a fan favourite who received the adulation of Al Nassr fans in the title winning season, and he was in the thick of action to ensure the club sealed the title on the final day with a 2-1 win over Al Batin, by just one-point
Musa made a total of 57 appearances, scored 11 goals, and provided 14 assists across all competitions before he left the club by mutual consent in October 2020.
