Flood has destroyed over 150 houses and property in Wuro Dole Village of Akko Local government area of Gombe State.
District Head of Wuro Dole, Alhaji Hussaini Isiaku, stated this while speaking with newsmen in Gombe. He said, “The rain lasted for over five hours and destroyed houses, food and animals, even though we thank God there was no loss of life.”
He said after the incident, the lawmaker representing the area in the state assembly visited the place and directed that women and children should stay at Wurodole Primary School.
Isiaku appealed to the state government to assist the affected community with food items, mats, blankets and building materials to enable them rebuild their houses.
Speaking after he visited the affected community, a member representing Akko North in the State House of Assembly, Musa A Mohammed, donated 20 sacks of maize to the victims and appealed to philanthropists and donor agencies to assist the victims.
