The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that several houses were submerged and valuable properties worth several million of naira were damaged by the flood in both communities.
Mr Charles Okonkwo, a staff of a commercial bank said that the rain had started in the state on Sept. 11 and Sept. 12.
He said that he managed to sleep in his car because his flat was in a pool of water after the rain.
He blamed the incident on poor drainage system constructed by the firm handling a road project in the area.
A nursing mother, who would not give her name in print, said it was God’s grace that saved her family from the ugly incident that submerged their house in the night of Sept 12.
Another victim, Mr Anthony Okonkwo, said his one storey building helped many people who ran to the place for safety with their children.
He attributed the incident to an ongoing road construction project in the area, while calling for government’s attention to solve the problem.
Two other Victims, Mr Nicholas Osai and Mr Bethram Chukwuma also blamed the flood on the poor drainage from a neighbouring community to Isuaniocha. (NAN)
