Flour Mills mulls crop processing zone in Nasarawa

Flour Mills PLC plans to establishe sugarcane plantation in Nasarawa State.

A team from Flour Mills Nigeria Plc is in Nasarawa State to carry out feasibility studies on a land to be used for the establishment of a multi crop processing zone and the cultivation of cassava and sugarcane.

The Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Paul Miyonmide Gbededo, disclosed this during a meeting with government officials in Lafia.

He said the company was visiting the land located in Umuasha, Toto Local Government Area to carry out feasibility studies on the suitability of the land for the specified projects.

Gbededo explained that the meeting was a follow-up on the earlier meeting held in Lagos when the Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, led a delegation to the corporate headquarters of the company.

He said his company, being the leading food and agro-allied company in the country, was investing in Nasarawa State because the state is agrarian and had lent itself so well to the firm’s philosophy and strategy.

Responding, Governor Sule thanked the company, saying, “I know that anywhere Flour Mills goes, you have added value. Everywhere you go, you carry the family with you, everywhere you go, you make your footprint and presence.’’
