Fly Nass completes airlift of Bauchi intending pilgrims

The airlift of Bauchi State intending concluded Monday by the state’s official carrier Fly Nass.

The airline got a 48-hour extension to complete the airlift on Monday.

A total 3,080 pilgrims out of the 3,090 pilgrims from the state were airlifted from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi.

Ten pregnant women were discovered and barred from the exercise.

The last batch of 180 intending pilgrims were airlifted to the Holy Land Monday, with 13 from Gombe State, 26 National Hajj Commission (NAHCO) officials and some Hajj officials from Adamawa and Taraba States.

Other officials on the flight are the state Amirul Hajj who is also the Speaker, Bauchi State House Of Assbly, Kawuwa Shehu Damina.

It was gathered that the flight was facilitated by the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, who is the National Amirul Hajj for this year Hajj exercise.

The last flight departed the airport at about 2:20 PM Sunday.

Two pregnant women were detected by officials of the Bauchi State Pilgrims Welfare Board before the departure of the last flight.

One of them is said to be seven-month pregnant while the other is carrying a six months pregnancy. Eight were discovered earlier which brought the number to 10.
