FMBN delivers 75,000 houses nationwide

Chairman of FMBN, Chief Bisi Ogunjobi, made the revelation on Friday at the end of a two-day retreat of the board of the bank in Abuja under the theme Transformational Leadership: The FMBN Perspective.
He said that in its commitment to transform FMBN to effectively deliver its mandate, the Board agreed to improve corporate governance, and adopt an enterprise risk management structure and the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) prior to the expiration of the deadline.
Ogunjobi also revealed that a reputable international consultant has been engaged by FMBN to conduct an institutional management study towards improving corporate governance and adopting sound operational and management policies.
Also speaking, MD FMBN, Gimba Ya’u Kumo, said FMBN has made significant progress on debt recovery hence the Board explored the need to take further options for addressing non-performing loans, enhancing credit review process and streamlining project monitoring.
He also said that the Board resolved to engage with key partners such as CBN, Federal Ministry of Finance and international development partners to address its challenges and explore opportunities for intervention funding for social housing to redress the national housing deficit.
